The Agribusiness Study Program held a Japan Internship Sharing Session on 19 January 2026, at Ruang Sidang Utama, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Science and Technology. The Japan internship program is an official collaboration between the Agribusiness Study Program and agricultural partners in Japan, particularly the Japan Agricultural Cooperative (JA). The activity aimed to provide students with firsthand insights into agricultural work practices in Japan.
The sharing session featured Agribusiness students who had participated in the Japan internship program in 2025. The alumni shared their experiences during the internship with students who have been selected to take part in the Japan internship program in 2026, offering practical insights and real-life perspectives on working in the Japanese agricultural sector.
The material presented covered internship locations in the Hokkaido and Nagasaki regions, including differences in seasons and working temperatures. Participants were introduced to the characteristics of the Japanese agricultural work environment, which requires physical readiness, discipline, and the ability to adapt to changing weather and seasonal conditions.
In addition, the types of work carried out during the internship were explained, ranging from harvesting broccoli, potatoes, and radishes to processing agricultural products in factories and working in greenhouses. Working hours are flexible and adjusted to field conditions, encouraging participants to develop professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.
The sharing session also discussed daily life during the internship in Japan, such as accommodation, transportation, meals, and interaction with co-workers. Through this activity, students are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Japan internship program and be better prepared to take part in international internship opportunities in the field of agribusiness.
