Agribusiness Study Program Holds Guest Lecture on Sustainable Agribusiness Management

The Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully conducted another guest lecture for the Agribusiness Management course with the theme “Sustainable Agribusiness Management.” The activity was held online via Zoom on 5 December 2025, from 09:00 to 11:00 WIB, and was attended by all third-semester students enrolled in the course.

The guest lecture featured Emilio O. Ibarbia, MSc. Agr., Chairman of the Agribusiness Department, College of Economics and Management, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, as the guest speaker. During the session, he shared valuable international perspectives on sustainable agribusiness management and discussed its relevance in addressing current challenges within the agribusiness sector.

In his presentation, Emilio O. Ibarbia emphasized the importance of integrating sustainability principles into agribusiness practices, particularly in relation to environmental responsibility, economic viability, and social development. The lecture provided students with broader insights into how sustainable agribusiness management can contribute to resilient food systems and long-term agricultural development in both local and global contexts.


The guest lecture aimed to enhance students’ understanding by connecting theoretical concepts learned in class with real-world applications and global best practices. The interactive discussion session allowed students to actively engage with the speaker, ask questions, and deepen their comprehension of sustainability issues in agribusiness management.


This activity reflects the Agribusiness Study Program’s ongoing commitment to strengthening academic quality through international collaboration and practitioner involvement. By inviting experts from overseas institutions, the program continues to expose students to diverse perspectives and contemporary issues in agribusiness.

Through this guest lecture, students are expected to develop a stronger awareness of sustainable agribusiness management as a key approach to addressing current and future challenges in the agribusiness sector.
